Jesus shines the brightest

Jesus the ultimate source of light, hope, and truth, especially during times of adversity.

• Light overcoming darkness: This idea is rooted in John 1:5, which says, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it". The darkness often symbolizes sin, evil, and despair. Followers of Christ believe that no matter how overwhelming the darkness may seem, Jesus's divine light is more powerful and ultimately victorious.
• Hope in challenging times: When a person is experiencing difficult times, sadness, or confusion, Christians believe that Jesus's presence becomes most apparent, much like how stars are most visible on the darkest nights. The challenges of life are seen as opportunities for God's glory to be revealed more clearly.
• Guidance and truth: Just as a physical light helps people see their way and avoid stumbling, Jesus's light is said to illuminate the path for believers, providing moral guidance and truth. This is encapsulated in John 8:12, where Jesus declares, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life".
• A beacon for others: As followers of Jesus, Christians are encouraged to be a reflection of his light to others. This is based on Matthew 5:14, where Jesus tells his disciples, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden". By showing love, grace, and compassion, believers can act as a beacon of hope for a hurting world.
